A parallel-twin motorcycle that lies about three-quarters of the way between offroad bike and sportbike. It sports an 18-inch front wheel and slightly longer-travel suspension than most streetbikes as nods to its offroad heritage in the Yamaha Tenere, but has FZR1000 brakes and is almost always used as a streetbike. And those goofy dual headlights, those beautiful goofy dual headlights.

Only imported to the USA in 1992 and 1993, it was sold through 1998 in Japan and Europe (where it is especially popular), transforming into the TDM 900 in 1999 with schwoopier bodywork and some mechanical changes.
